|Title:||La Jolla Cove Swim|
|Date:||Jan 10 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm|
|Description:||Tri Club members have a long-standing tradition of gathering at La Jolla Cove on Friday evenings. This isn't an organized or planned workout, just a chance to catch up with friends and meet new people. Swimmers arrive from 4:00 through 6:00, and swim distances varying from 1/2 mile to 2 miles or more.|
If you're new to the club and looking for folks to swim with, get to the cove around 5:00 and introduce yourself to people dressed like triathletes.
The forecast is for a NW 2-3 foot swell and a strong (15 mph) southerly wind. Which will likely make for a bumpy ride. Coupled with the 4:15 high tide, the cove itself might be something of a washing machine. Likely nothing hazardous, but definitely a shift to variable autumn conditions. Water temps are still in the 67 degree range.
"Introduction to the Cove" Swim
Given ocean conditions, it's really not a great day for an introduction to the cove. Conditions permitting, we'll try to do a couple more of these in October...but they're definitely winding down for the season.
