We have all heard the old sports medicine mnemonic “RICE”.  It stands for Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation.  These simple but sometimes effective concepts are meant to be applied following TRAUMATIC sports injuries.  Recently the sports medicine community has challenged the value of icing following injury and especially the value of icing a CHRONIC injury.
