She is an adult-onset athlete, running her first mile at age 28, teaching herself to swim at age 32, and completing her first sprint and 70.3 at age 33, but quickly fell in love with endurance sports and honed in on what it takes to become a competitive age-group athlete; qualifying for and completing the Ironman World Championship in 2024, competing at the top of her age group with podium finishes at the sprint and 70.3 distances; as well as repeatedly qualifying for USAT Age-Group Nationals and earning Ironman All-World Athlete status.
